Insurance on a IX

It's 2016 and I'm 24 and in the market to purchase my first evo.
Specifically a used IX, exciting

However, I'm curious about what people are paying for in terms of their insurance, whether it's an arm or a leg, or perhaps both!
I often hear various stories about how expensive it is to insure an evo.
I know there are multiple factors that insurances look at such as is it garaged, driver's age, location, etc- just wanted to get some thoughts, share of experience.

Thanks in advance!

$223 a month, I'm 24 with a IX and in NYC as well (queens). Car was put under my sisters name and I'm listed as a driver if that matters. Gonna try switching to hagerty this weekend which I think it qualifies for. Significantly cheaper.

Ayee! I'm in Queens as well! Wow 223 a month. Do you keep it garaged?
Haha I hope you can lower your rate, good luck!

Yeah it's garaged. Thats one of the requirements to insure under hagerty. It's rarely driven now that I have a beater. The salt on the roads eat up the under carriage like no other

It's good that you have the beater, drive safe.

250 in brooklyn? I'm surprised, even if it is liability.

It seems like, everyone is kind of in the similar ball park of ~$200-$250 ish.
Good to know, thanks to all!
Definitely going to have to go full coverage, but have to find the evo first!

Evo's are high risk cars for company's to insure since there are so many annual reported incidents with accidents and speeding tickets etc insurance company's are gonna typically charge more to insure these cars over a Camry for instance...
