BR Double Pumper Whine < 1000 miles

The fuel pumps didn't make a peep until today when I started the car up on a normal day to go grab some gas. The car was around 1/2 tank and the whine is really noticeable. The pitch of the whine would change if I loaded the car up electrically.

Filled the car up with e85 and it went on a long drive to NJ seemed to have went away with a full tank. When I get back the car was around 1/2 tank again. Started the car up tonight to go run to the store and the whine is back.

Should I be worried? Replace the pumps? Typical walbro whine?

well is it dropping afr's? I mean honestly you can replace both for under $200 (given they are 255's) , so dont take a risk, 200$ and peace of mind or worry and god forbid few grand for a new motor if pump gives up on you.

Sounds like you're loosing a pump. It gets hot at half tank and starts whining.

if they are the walbro 255's then they are notorious for wining and it shouldnt be a problem. People call them winebro's its such a known thing. Maybe before dropping $$$ you should call up buschur and see what their techs have to say about it.

Walbros have a standard whine, but when they get really loud it's a good indication that they're going out.

Agree with biggies, the Walbros are known to whine. Make sure you have the pre-filters installed.
