Is -6 normal for idle vacuum?

Long story short....

I was having issues with my built engine shooting out the dipstick and shooting oil over the engine.

I saw Tscomptuned post here: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ve...ification.html
And decided maybe that could help my issue. While doing this modification on my own. I realized my original issue. The pcv was clogged. So I replaced that as well when I had the valve cover off.
Now that I have it back together. My vacuum has gone from -11/-12 to -6/7.
Is this because of the modification or do I maybe have a boost leak? Do I need to be retuned?

I had that issue when I skipped timing, -7 instead of -15.

Try to verify that, but also I guess feel for the common leak spots like the hoses to the EGR below the throttle body, FPR, FPR solenoid, etc.

No such thing as -6 psi . Seems low OP, I would be looking for a leak. You could raise your idle to compensate, but I would do that as a last resort.

EvoScan reads negative PSIG on the MAP sensor circuit. It's -6psig, which is 8.7psia where 14.7psia is 0psig.
And raising idle speed would not increase manifold vacuum. If anything it would lower (closer to 0psig) since you're allowing more air through the TB.

Thanks for playing.

So the consensus is nothing should have changed by freeing up crankcase pressure and I have a boost leak?

All I said was there wasn't such thing as negative Psi (referencing absoulte). You answer more questions than anyone on here recently, I should have known to keep my mouth shut haha.

Well, if the PCV was clogged, it could have increased vacuum in the manifold. Doing a boost leak test is always a good idea. Is the car running weird? Does it have aftermarket cams?

I tried replacing the PCV valve with aftermarket but found that only an OEM valve seals boost out of the crankcase.
