Help Me Diagnose a Sound (Videos)

So you got to listen with the volume up as the sound isn't super loud. It can only be heard above 55 km/h. It's a whining sound in the background, hard to hear over my winter tires and exhaust/engine. Have three videos where it can be heard. Kind of sounds like it's coming from the back of the car, other times the front.

Thanks.

It could be diff or tcase.

But also sounds like a wheel bearing.

Also choppy tires "cupping" tires will make this noise.

So jack your car up and look for side/side up/down movement on wheel.

Also feel your tires see if there round and not choppy.

So I suspected a wheel bearing at first, all 4 tires are rock solid when I tried to move up and down or side to side. I thought the sound may have been tires but I have my winters on now and the sounds the same. I checked out a bunch of tcase videos and those sounded different to me. A constant high pitched whine with occasional grinding in some cases. Possibly a diff.

Also I don't know why it posted doubles of each video, sorry guys.

It can still be a wheel bearing even with out free play. You need to pinpoint the noise first. Get some passengers see who hears it more.

I've done that. If I'm in the passenger seat (Left hand side) I don't really hear anything. Car is quiet. I even rode in the trunk because I suspected my AYC pump. That just ended up being a terrifying experience, couldn't hear the sound. It's really only loud and audible from the drivers seat.

Through earphones I hear a medium pitch warble sound. I don't know the cause but in light load or coasting, gearboxes make this sound. Drive an old farm tractor in road gear and hear this sort of noise and hear it loudly.

What I suggest is pulling the fill plugs on all three gearboxes to verify the fluid levels.

I just did my transmission, transfer case, and engine oil about 500km ago for winter service. Oil was good in the tcase and trans. I filled both properly. I haven't done my rear diff yet.

So its a front noise. Now either center of vehicle or left or right?

As I said above, it can only really be heard from the drivers (right side) seat. I'm putting the car up on a lift after Uni today and taking a look.

So the sound is coming from the rear for sure. We couldn't pinpoint the sound but the lead mechanic at the shop I used to work at thinks it's driveshaft/rear diff related.
