Help!! what is this connection

i was removing the fluid control diff reservoir and found this loose connection underneath can something tell me where it hooks up to on an evo 9




it is coming from a bunch of wires electrically taped together

Hmmmm connector doesnt look familiar but based off location and the manual boost controller, it may be wastegate solenoid wiring.

So is there a good reason why would the previous owner could have removed it or has it come out but accident? And what component does it plug into

where is it coming from?
out of the wireing harness?

doesnt look like a oem plug

ohh... .yea. its like a single flat pin connector.

doesnt it go up to one of the sensors on the thermostat housing?

That looks like the Starter Signal wire, but you would know right away since your car will not start with out it.

if its coming out of the battery harness, then yes... that is what it is.

coolant temp sensor for the gauge.....the sensor is located on the thermostat housing
