Maybe it'll help. My car was acting similar and RRE found my knock sensor wiring was bad so the car was pulling timings due to false knocks and running rich. Fixed the wiring and my car is running good again.

Pretty sure that's your problem, that gap is way to large.

Gap it around .022-.024

What plugs are those though, are they iridiums? IIRC copper plugs needs a different gap size, never used one before, so waiting for someone else to chim in.

0.043 gap is a bit large, as stated above, gap them down as suggested and try to drive the car some more

Yep, gap to 0.022-0.024. Had the same issue but at wot at 20 psi, gapping the plugs down solved the hesitation issue.

Good lord as far as I'm aware that's about twice as wide as what it should be.

I ran .024 for a while with no issues until I started making more boost and ended up needing about 0.020 to resolve hesitation issues at 30psi wOT

Digging this thread back up I had a similar issue with my Evo 5 turned out to be one of the connector to my coil pack had a frayed wire to my coil pack. Only Discovered it when I was Changing my plugs gap to compensate for the hesitation. Ordered connectors from spooling up and rebuilt the connector and add a COP kit for good measure been running fine ever since hope it something others explore.
