This can't be happening
Just a couple of side notes.
Severe duty oil changes are due every 3750 miles. I think regular duty is every 5000(not sure on that one).
Most vehicles now-a-days have a drivetrain warrenty of more than the bumper to bumper warrenty. Like 3yr bumper to bumper and 5yr drivetrain.

Sorry for no late updates but everything is fixed. Friday they agreed to pull the motor apart at there cost so Monday I went over to sign the Work order. Also remember that I bought 2 of the oil filters from them and got them to pull the records for that. Well haven't heard anything so I figured I would call them up today.... well it was a spun rod bearing and on top of it got a brand new short block and is ready to be picked up all covered under warrenty and am going to pick it back up at 4.
Moral of the story:
SAVE ALL RECEIPTS and don't let them give you any crap no matter how bleak it looks.

Good deal, thanks for the advice. I read this whole thread and it really instilled the idea of keeping oil reciepts (something I didn't do prior to this vehicle).
Thanks for the heads up and advice EVL VIII. I'm glad things worked out for you!

I say stick this one out. My father had a problem ages ago with Pontiac because the motor went amis, and they claimed since he didnt use Quaker State oil that they would not honor it. After numerous calls to the regional offices, and filing a complaint with the BBB, they finally honored the waranty.
Get a laywer, find out where you stand with the technicalities behind auto repairs. It sounds like Mitsu is really getting bad with providing reasonable service to their customers.

Holy shishkabobs... I've read this thread from the first page on and damn, it's like a freakin soap opera... I'm sweating here in my chair.. Evl VIII, man I feel for you bro.. What a mess to have gone through... I basically threw the warranty out the window from the day I bought it.. Having had 3 other Turbo DSM's in the past.. I know thier little games... But I'm glad you made it through... Take care, drive wild...
P.S., and at this point, fluck it.. Just mod the beeotch!! Fluck the warranty... You'll never REALLY enjoy the power of the EVO until you do...
