Too much trouble. Just drive the damned thing LOL

Should be interesting to see where this ends up.

Looks like it's at a fair bid now. I don't think it will get past $28k though.

BAT is a sham. I'd never use that site as s metric for what a car is worth.

It's an auction. Cars sell for what someone is willing to pay. Which is all anything is worth...

^I would not agree it's worth every penny.

People do tend to overbid on BaT. And that's a really high ending bid on that IX, all things considered. I'd be surprised if the buyer actually pays. I know for certain that on 2 of the more recent BaT Evo auctions the sellers didn't get paid by the winning bidder. I know this because I spoke with the sellers afterwards. And it is true, certain vehicles sell for more on BaT than you can buy them for locally on CL or eBay. It's strange with BaT - it seems buyers are unaware they can find the same vehicle elsewhere for less. Is it laziness? Is it stupidity? Is it crypto-profits? I'm not sure what the driving force is behind it, but I don't really understand it.

That said, are 8/9 values on the rise? They certainly are, and I want them to be, considering I own several. I disagree that that above RR Evo sold on BaT above was worth every penny however. If the bidder does end up paying for it, and later decides he doesn't want it, I don't see him/her selling it for the same price they paid anytime soon on any other car-selling platform, and that's before you add in the 5% fees for the privilege the buyer gets to pay BaT for selling them the car.

I'm 100% convinced those extraordinary auctions are fake, used to drum up traffic and customers to BAT. Possibly to artificially drive up the market on certain cars... but mostly I'm sure it's a for traffic/clicks/to gain new customers. Who wouldn't want to flock to BAT if they could sell their car for 3x market value.

Fake news.

The real question is why do people think the 9's are inherently worth more? Because they were sold for one year in the US? They brought 21k CT9A evos to the US, 12k of those are 9s.

Only produced one year, the last CT9A, and has features not available on the VIII. Right or wrong, that would be about it.

I hadn't thought about that possibility but it'd make sense considering the ridiculousness of these prices. The winning bidder on that RR linked above was new and had never bid on anything else. And on the others I know that didn't sell (although BaT says they did), one "winner" was a new member and the other "winner" had bid on several cars before and on nothing since "winning" the bid on the Evo.

Exactly. I always feel like I'm the only one that sees this.
