Need help removing the radiator/fan.

I’m trying to replace a leaking stock radiator with a koyorad. I’m stuck at removing the radiator fan, the metal parts in the shroud are blocking me from lifting it up. Do I need to remove part of the upper IC pipe? If so which where should I aim for? Or am I missing something else? Thanks!

I think there is a module of some sort bolted onto that metal fan housing that you can remove from under the car. That might be whats holding you up.

This also may be a little helpful.

Yea you need to remove the Upper intercooler pipe coupler. Unplug the radiator fan module etc.

Do I need to remove the upper pipe to take off that coupler?

From the looks of the pic you took, you're going to have to remove your intake box as well so that you can access the lower hose clamp on the bottom of the flex coupling joining the upper pipe and the one coming from the intercooler. As noted earlier, you'll need to unplug the fan control modules that are just next to the fan motor (literally mounted right beside the bracket about 1 " closer to the direction of the drivers side fender.) After that, the whole shroud and fan assy should pull straight up and out. From there, disconnect the upper and lower radiator hoses and the coolant overflow hose, remove the two brackets on top of the radiator to the core support and pull the radiator straight up and out.

I hate to be that *******. But if you can't figure this out, I'm not sure you should be working on a car...

I was able to remove the radiator and fan but it took some time. Now I have the new radiator put in but I can’t seem to put the oem fan back in. The metal bracket on the shroud is blocking me and is hitting the lower ic pipe. Any suggestion? Will a slim fan be a solution?

No, the OEM fan shroud fits back in with this radiator. To give yourself room to maneuver it in you need to remove the lower portion of the upper intercooler pipe.
