Front seat mounting stud question

Hello all, I have a question about the front seat mounting stud. I purchased an Evo 9 and found this while cleaning the carpets. Looks like one of the front studs on the passenger seat had snapped off. I imagine there are others like this out there. What are the methods you guys have used to repair this? I haven't taken the seat out to inspect further, just saw what is shown in this picture I took so far. Thanks in advance.

Well, that is a tough bugger

Aside from drilling that out completely, wonder if tapping the bolt shank & going in w/a much small diameter high strength bolt would work?

Or, if cutting out the subpan & making a window (adjacent to the failed bolt) from the interior side, can we get to that bolt shank & replace it w/a new one?

i wonder if it would be easier to drill another hole to one side of the bolt all the way through.. and then just bolt it up.

drilling out that bolt will be tough

might work.. would have to pull out the carpet.. grind it down smooth and the weld one on.
if you didnt do that, i dont know how you could cleanly weld one close enough so that a nut would pull up

wouldn't have to pull the whole carpet, just pull up in that area? I replaced the entire carpet on my evo once, if I can do it, it ain't hard lol

Welding on a stud to the failed bolt doesnt sound structural to me. These seats need a stud that is strong in shear & clamp force

Wonder if drilling out the failed stud & dropping in a Nut-Sert device would work. Welding the Nut-Sert in place (just a thought!)
