Modern-day alternatives to Evo 9?
As an aside, my wife's Honda has adaptive cruise. I set her car's cruise to 80 and end up following some slow truck doing 65 for fifteen minutes, the amount of time it takes me to realize I am slow. So I pass to get captured by the next slow vehicle. Isn't technology wonderful.
Come on guys, the current Teslas are in no way an actual replacement for an Evo.
I am NOT saying they aren't great cars because they are def the most engaging electric cars but they absolutely do not have the handling and telepathic feeling that Evos have.
I am looking forward to the day electric cars are actual drivers cars, we all know it's coming.
Very few cars under 100K come close to the feeling of an Evo. Hell, even over $100k there are only a few.

With about 8k on our Model 3 performance, I'll disagree. Its quite tossable on back roads and the throttle response is a game changer. That's just with an alignment and wheel/tire change over stock.
You still certainly feel its weight but a lot of that is the soft stock suspension. Looking forward to what coilovers do to improve the body roll. Stock for stock, the Evo definitely crushes in its body control when at the limit but stock is not really something us here have to worry about being limited too
Go watch some of Jackie Dings track vids with his model 3 also. That car is not planted at all, its moving around and lively very much like my car on track.

I've driven a M3P. The steering and road feel is nowhere close to an Evo, yet.
Yes they are tossable and feel good. So are M cars, which are also not close in steering and road feel compared to an Evo.

To me, the obvious end result of safety regulations will be a car that you only think you are driving. In reality, the car is driving itself, and you are playing a video game. I guess it comes down to how much your "experience" while driving the car is effected by knowing the sound you are hearing is simulated engine noise coming from the stereo. Maybe the fact that the car is driving for you, and allowing you to experience higher levels of performance than your skills would otherwise be capable will override the lack of authenticity.
I have all that stuff in my Golf Alltrack, Lane Assist, sonar adaptive cruise, parks itself, parking lot pedestrian brake assist, yada yada.
All it took was the drive home from the dealer and I turned it all off the second I got home and haven't turned it back on since.

Sorry OP, all the whining I'm doing is just a long way of saying I don't think (am skeptical at best) what you're looking for, a "modern evo 9" even exists, or could exist anymore. When these cars came out they punched way above their class. I'm not just talking about performance either. It was a relatively affordable car that was something you could work on in your garage without crazy specialized tools. It came with tons of potential left on the table and minimal effort required to extract it.

I saw a couple mostly stock Model 3s at the track last year. They'd usually start out very fast but it wasn't long before I was lapping them.
Someone local has a caged Model 3 built for track use. I haven't followed it closely but I heard they were enjoying it.
Charge state is of course the biggest track limitation. Some tracks are getting setup with rapid chargers, I think it was Leguna and/or Willows that was one of the west coast locations. Getting back to 95% is pretty key to best lap times and power in my car seems to have a power droppoff around 70% and again at 40% .
295s fit once you have more camber with the front being the limitation. I think some are doing 305s now but I haven't really seen people go to quite the lengths the Evo guys have to fit tire.
There also seems to be some structural difference between earlier models and my 2021. With all the tricks to achieve camber on stock parts I got -1.3 degrees and my friends older (2018 I think) only has -0.3 degrees.
