Modern-day alternatives to Evo 9?
I am in the same boat here. There are so many new cars that are faster, ride smoother and have more creature comforts than my IX. From a driving experience I have driven a lot of cars that were a blast to drive, but the experience behind the wheel, the analog feel of the car, and all the people that give out a thumbs up when I am cruising on the highway is irreplaceable.
I would love to get into a GR Corolla or a G80 M3, but I can’t bring myself to get rid of the Evo. Too many smiles per gallon, 170k and going strong.

No substitute for the driving experience an Evo offers imo. Modern technology has gotten in the way of pure sports driving.
Today I think the only vehicle on the market with enough similarities to compare would be the GR Corolla imo. I was interested in the GR-C for awhile, but if you've heard anything about that platform, it can't handle more than a few laps before its' ITCC throws the car in limp (FWD only) mode. The community is trying to figure it out but nothing solid yet.
