2006 Evo Values
Everyone is so determined for us to keep these cars. Everyone is more than welcome to buy mine and hold on to it as long as they like.

The Evo symbolizes the democratization of speed. Performance for anybody. For the past few decades It's been 30k + some parts to take on Lambos. To me, it's class war on wheels. If it ever becomes as lame as classic Porsches then I'm out. If the Type R goes AWD then I'm out. If something below 50k can hit 1000 awhp with electric motors then I'm out.
Or at least I'd like to think that. Unfortunately, there's sort of a bond at this point. There's something defiant about the plastic climate controls, rattles and bumper sag.
I guess what I'm trying to say is: When you pay $100,000 for an Evo you're not buying an Evo, you're buying into commodity fetishism.

in the future 🤣🤣🤣, half these clown be lucky if they see next year but worried about cashing out on an Evo in 10-20 yrs from now.
~$50k increase in an investment isn't considered rich. Lol
most people into enthusiast cars that are increasing in value traditionly are people who dont invest in other investment opportunities. So if they are excited about buying a car thats increasing in value, more power to them.
There are better investments. I bought mine new in 05 because prior to that I had the first USDM STI, and before that the first USDM WRX. It was the automobile rivalry of the times. The evo won. And 05 MR was the top of the food chain as far as OEM went at the time. Loved homoligation specials and fell in love with this car. The love continues.

And it was the first time I ever had a set of Ray's wheels lol
I always wondered why I see this same response in threads of cars that are increasing in value. I think i figured out why. People who post this response dont understand the concepts of wealth and investments.

Calm down nobody is talking about getting rich, that's you. Even if they hit 200k I wouldn't consider that getting rich. Most owners who are enthusiasts watching prices aren't ever going to sell their evo anyway. The evo 9 has been a dream car of mine from a very early age and it appears the same follows for many others. I never have the intention of selling so price increases don't matter to me, its more of an indicator that parts/clean, low mile chassis are only going to get harder to find.
We are in the middle of a great transition for these cars. Old, long time owners who are now selling for what they believe the car is worth are letting them go and new, "younger" owners who in my opinion value these cars much more are taking hold. The evo world is going to look alot different from here on out..and so will price tags. Im the type that never sell cars, just adding to the collection. Yes im selfish and want a graveyard full of cars by the age of 60. That to me is worth more than all the money in the world.

Even if we somehow all got $100k for our cars, the price of everything else that's good has risen just as much (or more). Selling is a lateral move at best these days, and $100k doesn't go very far.
I wouldn't say everything else. Just the significant cars of the early tuner days. There is still alot of very cool cars many seem to have forgotten about I have my eye on.
