Planning to switch my USDM bumper to JDM. I currently have a Tomei Exhaust and I want to know if it will burn the new bumper. I don't care if the exhaust is sticking out but would prefer it not to burn my new bumper. Does anybody have a picture of theirs or went through the same route. I rather not order a new exhaust if I don't have to.

 

You can make fine fitment adjustments by using different size rubber hangers. I had a JDM exhaust put on and looks way better than a USDM fitting muffler. Still needed some tweaking to get centered tho.

Best bet is to go to an exhaust shop who can likely modify (cut and weld) your US exhaust to fit the bumper if you don’t want to get a whole new exhaust set up. You definitely don’t want to melt your new bumper. Personally, I got the HKS super turbo exhaust designed for the Evo 9 JDM bumper.

Hmm, I'll probably just gonna end up buying a new exhaust. Anybody got a recommendation that's good to daily but loud when you go WOT. My current setup is actually tame even with a tomei. Its not a turboback setup so it aint gonna be super loud.

 

I bought this: HKS Silent Hi-Power Cat-Back Exhaust for JDM Evo 9 Bumper (31019-AM008)

I love it. Quiet at idle and cruise even being catless, but loud at WOT. Fits great

 

+1 with that fitment. Looks like any HKS exhaust is on the quieter side at 90+db.
