Evo 8 Build
Evo 8 Build
Hey guys,
I am currently in the process of building my evo 8 mr after the stock engine and turbo finally died. I have a built 2L waiting for all the bolt ons to be ordered and installed. I am chasing 350kw (preferably on 98) and including flex fuel to be able to add more power on e85. I have talked to my tuner about bolt ons but they have been very broad and recommended a dual walbro 525 with 1650cc injectors and the aeroflow turbo kit and a g30-770 0.61 A/R. I have been looking at the ERS 600 turbo kit that uses mainly artec gear. I can't seem to find any reviews on the aeroflow turbo kit and wondering what advice in terms of recommended fuel setups and turbo kits you guys have had good experiences on and everything I will need to get them running in the car.
Thanks in advance.

I don't have any feedback on the turbo kit as I have never heard of it but can help on the fuel side.
Dual 525s is way too much for 350kW. You can get right there with a single punched walbro 255 or go to a single 450/525 or dual 255s if you want some head room. Making that on e85 will not be an issue at all, on pump gas you will have to sacrifice a lot of turbo response to get something big enough to support that on pump gas. For injectors, I would recommend like the ID1700x. They are e85 compatible and will have some headroom at you stated goal.
If I were you, I would lay out the planned use case for the car and just build for that. The number is just a number and a responsive setup that makes 300kw is going to be way more fun on the street than a laggy setup. Really think about your use case and then start building.

I’m making 350 kW with an intense turbo setup, stock headers, and a 4-inch exhaust. The engine’s fully built but still a 2.0 L, running cams and tuned on E85 only. For fuel, a single 525 pump does the job, but it had to be rewired to handle the extra heat it puts out. It’s also running 1400 cc Delphi injectors with a Yaris COP kit. On the dyno, it could push up to 380 kW, but we dialed it back to 350 kW since the car’s mainly used for hill runs. Oh and super responsive and comes on hard
Yeah it’s mostly going to be a street car but would also like to take it to a few roll racing events and would like to be able to up it a decent amount. My engine was built for another car and made 523kw at the hubs but was only run for about 1000km. From the research I’ve done, I agree that the single 525 would be enough for the power goals I am after.
