I've done 150 on the track stupid boy. I'm smart enough to know where that speed belongs and where it doesn't. All you've shown with your juvenile post is you are not smart or mature either for that matter.

Where did the original news report go? It was on the front page but is no longer? Is it still available?

Here in NZ if you are caught going over 140km/h (86 mile) they have the power to impound your car for 28 days no questions asked. You will spend the night in the cells, get a big $500-$800 fine, and get charged with dangerous driving our worse road offense there is. For this you will have to go to court and may get jail time. I think they may be able to order your car sold and the profits go to the government but I think that you have to be a multiple re-offender for that to happen.
Also a new law has just been passed where any car with a non-standard exhaust can be pulled over at any time at a cops discretion if they think you are making too much noise (applys to stereo's as well) and fine you and order your car off the road as a defective vehicle.
5 years ago NZ used to have some decent laws about things like this but there has been a massive "anti-boyracer/anti modified car" upsurge and the politicions have passed some ridiculous laws as knee-jerk reactions to problems that don't exist.
Its getting really hard to own a modified car at all here I wish they would just pass some decent laws. How much harder would it be to add a quantifiable noise measurement when the car has to get its warrent of fitness every 6 months-year? The whole "at the cops discretion" is the worse part, since the majority of cops over here see a youngish (25 but asian I look quite young) guy in a nice car and they will pull you over and harass you. When I was younger I would get pulled over for the most ridiculous things.....

So most of those cars that I see in the videos in NZ are just track cars? No street/daily driving then with those laws?

A lot of people drive their cars around, but its just hard. Day to day during the day if you are not doing anything stupid you should be ok. But if you are out and about "cruising" at night with a loud car, then if you come across a cop whos having a bad day he can just ruin your night for you.

Re: Original post. Muahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!

The fine does seem cheap. I got out of a 114 mph in a 70 mph zone by using an attorney. The Judge told me that if I had been found guilty, he would have fined me $1,740 and suspended my drivers license for 30 days. I'm in California. I was on the way to the racetrack too.

I got 177.50 for doing 53 in a 35

This doesn't seem fair.
