2004 EVO price!
oh definetly... i saw a local dealer get their first 04 and asked what the price is, the dealer mentioned the $5k markup.... i basically laughed in their face... the evo is definetly not as hot as it was and the difference between the 03 and 04 is minimal.
lol, they must have surely felt a slap in their face for asking that price and getting laughed at. What i dont understand is that why pay for an '04 now when most car manufacturers are selling their '05s already. Mitsub. really screwed up with the late shipments and delays and can only depreciate the value of the '04, even more so when the supposedly MR is coming out this Fall or Spring.
Mitsubishi is in tough financial straits. This has everything to do with trying to increase their profit margins. This isn't like they are trying to ROB people of money. Mitsubishi was barely making anything on the EVO anyhow trying to make it competitive against Subaru in this market space. It is still priced less then an STi.
Something else to keep in mind... The final price that YOU purchase the vehicle for is negotiated at the dealership level. It doesn't have anything to do with Mitsubishi. Mitsu dealers have been hurting for quite a while now and they are just trying to turn a profit on a vehicle that is proving to be popular in a niche market. I don't think they are interested in selling this car in high volumes.

At my dealership, we caved in and put a 2000 dollar L.O.A. on our blue EVO. We have the only blue one in the Southeast Region. We have had several people laugh at us over it, and while it may make you feel better, it does not hurt the dealership in any way. The way we think is, laugh if you want, but somebody is going to pay the price for it. In fact we sold a black 04 EVO for 35,144 plus tax title and license this morning!
well ofcourse ISELLEVOS... i dont laugh at salesman because we want to hurt the dealer.. maybe there will be some desperate foo that will jump on an unreasonable price but hey i wont be that fool.

The person that bought this car today is a moron. I almost dropped $30,000 cash until i started researching these cars. Heck i have seen NEW 03's for $26k and $22k barely used. I think i will wait until they sell for $20,000 used. At that point i will buy it cash and save myself 10 grand.
It just all comes down to how bad you want the new EVO. Some people can afford to pay whatever they want, and they don't have to wait. As a salesperson, it's my job to work for the consumer. I want to get them the best deal that I can, as well as befriend them. However, it kind of irks me when people start off so combatively, like I'm just there to screw them over!

Now how much can you do to your car for 10,000 in cash if you had it. Hmmmm

Also, the EVO is the worst car you can buy used (although some people have found them in good shape) because they are usually trashed out.
I have owned 4 mitsubishis and have been great cars, but their resale value sucks.

This car was immaculate but i dont want another black car. So you can find them as long as you are no in a rush.

Good luck with the EVO sales.
