That actually makes me feel better if its not 29999. That and there are absolutely no used Evos in GA except a yellow one.

I paid like $6,000 under the sticker price, but had a focking residual on my previous car...so I really ended up paying like $1,000 under sticker. What I got hosed on was the length of the loan and APR %!! I could have bought an Mercedes for what I will pay for my EVO VIII...but who really wants a Mercedes anyway?!? J/K I wanted an EVO VIII, not an overpriced, overrated Chrysler...errrr Mercedes. I was willing to pay what I had to! That's what I hate about having great credit...sales reps will find a way to sell you anything!!

I dont get it....you had good credit but got hosed with APR and the length of the loan? Good ratings equal lowest possible APR and length. Usually, the length is almost always up to the consumer depending on what they can afford per month and the APR is just based on your rating. I've bought four cars new, three mitsu's and an acura and I've never paid above 3% on a 36 month loan. By the way, I was just quoted $31,000 plus tax, tags etc. for leather/upgraded stereo on a black 2k4 in maryland. I hope to be picking it up within the week as soon as I get a chance to get over there.

I think there are still 3 or 4 New 03 Evos in Houston for $25,800 if anyone is interested.
I got mine for that!

I just negotiated a 32,000 price for a 2004 with the leather option at a dealer here in Illinois. I was ready to buy at that price because the original salesman told me that the 0% deal included the EVO, but I went in to actually make the purchase (or at least run the numbers), and we find out that the 0% is not on the Evos. Plus, I wanted a blue one and they only had a black one on the lot at the time. They tried their best to sell me the car and even offered to order a blue one at 3% interest.

But I just decided to wait. I think the 04s with the leather will be selling right around invoice in 6-8 months anyway and that will give me more time to save. Plus, we should know if the MR is coming by then for sure, which is what I really want anyway.

Mitsu (or at least this dealer) has a 0% financing deal going on for all 04 models, except the EVO aparently. I'm pretty sure this was for up to 60 months, but I guess that is a moot point since the EVO was excluded.

They were also honoring a $500 loyalty rebate on the EVO if you already owned a Mitsu.

I heard from a friend of mine in Japan that the plan is for 1300-1400 2004's and the next ones after that will be 05's, they will possibly just increase th 05 base price even though its the same car. They'll catch up pretty quick.
The last run of rx7, suras, 300zx tt ended because of lagging sales. The lagging sales were not caused by the MSRP they were caused by greedy U.S. dealers. That mark up is not because of mitsubishi.

Exactly. In fact, even if supply were there, if there are a number of people willing to pay a higher price for the EVO, then dealers will automatically price the car at the higher price. In today's day and age, we have the internet which allows people to get as much possible information on vehicles before purchasing them. However, there will always be people who can't wait to buy a car, and there will alway be dealers willing to sell these individuals cars way above invoice.
