Thumbs down 2004 EVO price!

This may have alreaydy been discussed, but anyone notice the hike in pricing for an 04 EVO? I believe it started at 28,800 last year and it is now up to 29,999 base MSRP on their website.

Any ideas why?

Expensive car!

$ 31,454 MSRP with Sunroof and Wing

I paid $25,800 out the door for my used EVO with 9K in January. Even if you get car for $29000 the out the door price will be over 30K. Glad I got my used

I guess you're right. That equates to about 5% inflation...
I wish there was justification with inflation.

Sorry for not thinking and wasting posting space.

Later all.

LOL. you think YOU got robbed? Some poor idiots paid Sticker price, IE.
2,000-15,000 OVER MSRP. The first evo was sold for $50,000

When i got to the dealership, the evo i was getting had a sticker price of $39,812
I paid $200 UNDER msrp for that very same evo the very same day. And this was last June when the evo was only unleashed in the US for a few months.

no one gets robbed.. some of you people should take some econ class, if supply cannot keep up with demand, ofcourse the price will be higher. why would the dealer sell the evo for less then MSRP when people are scrambling to get the evo when it comes out? no one gets 'robbed' for a luxury item in a capitalistic economy, if you dont want to pay their "ridiculous" price, dont buy it!

you make it seem like these cars sell like hotcakes, mifesto, but in reality, these cars are not selling all that well. If u look at the Mitsu. sell for the evo on MY2003-MY2004 they sold just a tad bit over 1000 evos. Thats not a lot. There are lots of 2003 still on the lot in most dealerships i know of. I got mines for 24,800 plus tax and lic. with only 8miles on it.

well yeah they arent selling like hotcakes now, but in the beginning they were... you gotta remember they were selling great RELATIVELY. no matter how well they sell, evos will never sell as many as a camry or an accord. but simply if the demand cannot keep up with the supply, then they are selling "like hot cakes". so right now, a dealer cannot add a $5k markup and get away with it, but before they could.... like i said, no one was robbed.

Show your Bill of sale. Id like to see this. 25k for a new evo sounds very low to me. Used ones are going for that price.

evolutionNIK07 kinda missed the point. people were complaining they got robbed when evo first came out, and i said they didnt. evolutionNIK07 got his evo some time after the evo came out, like me.

after reading your previous post agian, i realized that i had jumped to conclusions about your statement. Your right, if supply can't keep up with demand then there is no reason to drop below the asking price. In the case of the '04 model, time will tell if there will be enough demand to stay at MSRP. So i suggest anyone willing to wait for the '04, to wait on it. A good deal is just right around the corner.
