2004 EVO price!
Let's stop whining for a second and try to understand the diference for the 2004 price change. 2003 models were base priced at $28,987, whereas the 2004 are $29,999. That's a difference of $1012. Let's look further to realize that the optional carbon-fiber rear wing that was initially priced at $480 in early 2003 and later that same year raised to $600, is now standard for 2004. So when you subtract that amount from the base price difference you end up with $412. Considering that for 2004 you get standard a 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty, what are you freaking complaining about. You couldn't buy an extended powertrain warranty for that dollar amount. Jeez stop whining, look at the reasons for the changes, and use logic to try and understand them before you start complaining.

Stopping to understand the situation before spouting off.. You must be sick man, or insane, or whatever the hip hop lingo is nowadays...
The 04s and 05 Evos with their minimal price increase and many additions still make it the steal of the decade.

BWAH HA HA HA HA!ISellEvos... let's be honest. You may want to help the customer in making their buying decision but you really are there to screw them over. No.... really.
This is a fact of the sales profession. Many years ago I sold new and used cars and the bottom line is... If you don't hold GROSS, you won't get paid. You make a draw plus commission (and if you don't then the dealership is screwing you). The higher you hold the customer, the more you get paid. This is a simple fact and a part of the sales negotiation process that some people enjoy. I didnt' like "screwing" people, so I stopped selling cars.
The BEST dealerships are the ones that subscribe to selling vehicles in volume. They are willing to work with the customer and have no problems selling vehicles down to invoice because they collect it all back at the end of the year from "hold back."
I understand Mitsu dealers are hurting because of low sales, but selling a car OVER the MSRP isn't going to help you in the long run nor will it buy you loyalty. You may get the sale today but you will be out of business tomorrow. As a matter of fact, in some states it is ILLEGAL to sell a car OVER MSRP. The dealerships have neat little "tricks" to avoid the legal problem.
If you are looking for sales here, it might help to have a little more tact with the customer. I've seen some VERY helpful dealers frequenting this board that are more than willling to negotiate.
THe combatitive nature, as husker has just shown, can begin on either side, customer or salesperson. Either way, it's not a good tactic for any business. Both sides are their for a reason, and belittling the other isn't going to make shelling out the money or discounting the product any easier.

At my dealership, we sell most of our cars at or near invoice. Obviously the EVO is an exception. I get paid a monthly salary and a GT on all cars I sell. That means that I am guarenteed a certain amount for every car I sell regardless of gross. Therefore, all I care about is getting a price that the customer is happy with, and will do business at. Thus, I am not looking to screw the customer. However, the close minded perception that every is out to get you is what creates all the problems. The holdback doesn't go to the salesman or the manager, it goes to the finance person, and if the car sits on the lot for long enough it doesn't even exist. I'm not here to try and sell cars, I'm just trying to learn a bit about my product and my clientelle.
If you come on to my lot, I'm more than happy to show you the invoice, and we will work from there. There is absolutely no reason for you to attack me on character just because of the profession that I have chosen.

Sorry, just had to point it out. It's also against the rules.
Well, if it's against the rules I'll change it. I didn't know. I would like it if people called though, I want to learn about my product, I'm not trying to sell anything on here, but I'd like people to know that if they are looking for one that I can help them. How could I leave my number on there without breaking the rules?
If anyone just wants to chat about this magnificent car call me!
