21k for a rally red used w/12,000 miles. Be patient look around, use the internet and be willing to transport the car from outstate. It works-

So what's the lowest anyone has gotten recently for a "fully loaded" 04? Is invoice (or at least close to invoice) pricing realistic in some areas?

$30,124 out the door.. I'm not bragging, but so far I havn't seen anyone get a '04 fully loaded evo for less than that. Well actually I got it for $30,624 after fees and everything, but I got a $500 loyalty discount for my 99 GSX. The dealer tried to pull a fast one on me, he called me up and said "Yeah, about the price, its going to be $400 more because you got all the options." I said "I asked for all the options" He said "No, you asked for the sun-roof and leather and the spoiler and you also got the upgraded stereo with the sub-woofer" I said "Yes, that all comes in one package, so even if i just asked for the sun-roof I would of technically asked for all the options, and I already signed the papers on that price." He gave up

Guys, consider yourselves very very lucky with your car pricing and availabilty is the USA.

We are just getting out first shipment of EVO VIIIs in Australia in the next week. There are only 100 of the cars coming in. All have been pre-sold by May with no price tags on them. That meant the Mitsu can and will charge whatever they like.
The price was confirmed last week @ $67,000 AUD drive-away (depending on the state).
The equates to $46,622 USD!!!!

This is the base Evo VIII. No leather. The stereo is pretty average too. the 2004 Aus model has all the bits at least as in ACD and SAYC but detuned to 197kw. The word from Mitsu is that there may be more next year but the same spec - mo MR spec at all.

In short you'd save some big money by buying in the USA. I hope they are worth the money after what we are paying for them!

here's a quick MSRP run down comparison between '03 and '04 in NJ:

2003:
msrp: $28,987
msrp + destination and handling + cf wing: $30,182
msrp + destination and handling + cf wing + sunroof: $ ?

2004:
msrp: $29,999
msrp + destination and handling: $30,594
msrp + destination and handling + sun/sound/leather: $33,144

around here, there are a couple dealers with $1k to 2k markups. so anything cheaper than msrp is definitely good.

I live in central oregon. I ordered her up from Dave Hamilton Mitsubishi out of Redmond, Oregon. I'm still pondering as to when I'm going to get it, ordered June 1st and it still hasn't shipped from Japan. Oh well.

I think the main thing people do wrong is let the salesman know they want that car bad. If you give the salesman the idea you will do anything to get this car he's gonna screw you. I act interested, but I let them know I'm looking at other cars. I made up some BS story about how another dealer offered me a lower price, but I'd rather buy it here to save the driving distance. And I told them I was also looking at the STI. If you feel your getting screwed just walk away, there are always other dealers. Half of the time when you walk away they'll budge. Atleast they have with me. Just play it smart and dont be a sucker to all of the BS they throw at you. I was only there for 15 minutes before we settled at $30,124 out the door for this fully loaded '04. This dealer is also only 2 months old, maybe this guy was just a newbie to sales too, I have no idea. Good luck when you go to haggle! Dont let them break you!

I don't want to sound like some of you guys don't have any nuggets but, simply go dealer to dealer find an 03' on someones lot that has 5-8 cars sitting there tell him you know what invoice is and that you would like to see his actual invoice, then make him an offer below that for 26K and if he doesn't take it walk. Repeat process until someone sells you a car. This isn't new to them and they are not offended believe me. They do not want to sit on cars. They also are willing to sell cars at thier cost or below when their inventory is high-

ok... hold up guys, under 30k out the door? i'm about to close a deal on my weightless white evo viii 04, has nothing but the paint protectant (and wing), the lot has 4 of them sitting and 3 black ones all identical. this bocker has been tryinna shaft me for 32000 out the door for a week now (and he might throw in lowjack). is that a good price? cuz you guys confusing me, not everyone is quoting out the door and it's depressing if you can get it fully loaded (btw what is fully loaded, is that sound and sunroof?) for less than 30 or 30.

I think the 04 price is normal when you take in account the yearly increase in price of cars, and that the carbon fiber wing is standard.
As for the people that got the cars cheap, or used. That is normal for a car like the Evo. There are market places that do not support a car like this, and there are market places that have a high demand.
I bet mitsubishi watched this and will send cars to the places with more demand, and less or none to the places that had a hard time selling them.

It all depends on your area I believe. If the dealer sells a lot of Evo's he know's he's going to be able to shaft someone for that price he wants to stick on you. You may not be able to go much lower than 32k. I just live in a area where they dont sell too many Evo's, they even had to order me one from the factory. I didn't even have to haggle that much and he was the one that told me $30,124 out the door. They've only been open 3-4 months so maybe they're still newbies, who knows. Perhaps I got this all wrong and it doesn't matter on the area, I have no idea, its just a guess. Of course I went into the dealership in a wheel chair cuz I'm stuck in one for 3 months so maybe he felt pitty on me. Perhaps you coudl give it a whirl and find one for the day haha
