Uhm, you mean something productive like starting a thread called "Stupid Evo!" in an EVO forum?

I digress! My apologies for interrupting your oh-so-productive posts.

Don't parents these days believe in saving money for their kid's college or their first house. Instead they give their kids a weapon, aka an EVO if they get good grades. Don't get me wrong any car can be a weapon because you can easily kill yourself and/or others. But an EVO in the wrong hands can be deadly and most (I did not say all) teenagers do not have the willpower to control those hormonal urges to speed, race, and drive reckless. I was a teenager once also and I know those urges and eventhough I still speed I have way more self-control then when I was a teenager. And most of all I am responsible for my actions. If the teenager under their parents insurance gets in an accident who will the victims go after? The teenager with a few hundred in the bank or the parents who own a house and work their asses off to feed you and put clothes on your back?! Yes that's right, they will go after your parent's bank account and their home. But the parents never see that, they just want to make little Joey & Suzy happy, make the other materialistic parents jealous and reward them for getting good grades!

i don't neccesarily agree with the all young drivers sucks theory but 25% of my senior class of over 200 totaled their cars so their is truth to it. What i DO agree with is no kid should get any car that they want for the first car and the parents should go out of the way to find them a piece of ****. I drove piece of **** for a year and half and hated it, then my piece of **** died and i had to drive a MIATA for 1/2 a year which completley stripped me of my manhood, now i take delivery of my EVO next week. And you know what, i wouldn't have it anyother way because it teaches you a damn good lesson

Go whine about how many problems you have with your car, because half the **** its probably from your abuse.

At least I didn't have mommy and daddy pay for mine.

So sad you gotta be breastfeeding off of your parents to get anything

So go eat a dick and quit whining like a little hoe about it.

First, how is it allready paid off a year later? At $525 a month I think you'd still have some time to go. Did you just fall into $20,000, or did you 'someone' help you out a little?

Second, I grabbed a little loan calculator (can find them online, all over) and figured $30,000 car, $10,000 down, so $20,000 balance (as stated above). Then I put the numbers in, at a decent (if you are as responsible as you say you are) rate of 4.00% and the payments come out to $368.33. If you got all the money and are so responsible why was your payment so high?

Sorry, I'm just trying to crunch the numbers, and they aren't quite adding up. Not that it makes you a bad driver, mind you (I'm in no way saying that). But, uhm..

BS!
A 4.00% rate for a 18 yr is about nigh on impossible.

I never disclosed how much money I actually had. I kept the car for a year, collected a little credit, then finished it off.

Plus I had credit insurance tacked onto my monthly payment. This will pay for my loan if somethin was to happen to me and make me unable to work. I have a bad hip which i've been to the doctor several times for and this seemed like a good idea at the time

My REAL car payment was only around 470 with 8.950% rate.

Just clearing that up

Your only 17. Saying you've been driving all your life means nothing. You weren't driving when you were eight. I'm guessing at the most you started driving at 13 and considering you can't get a license at 13 I would hardly call going up and down the drive way driving. So really you maybe have 3 years experience. Some of these guys could have 20 years experience. Sorry to say it but 3 years doesn't hold a candle to 20 years of actual driving. You still have a lot to learn.

Well the stock clutch sucks. As for the other problems take it to a dealership. Make sure to take off your mods first though.

I've had five cars in 10 years. Why the hell you need 4 different cars in one years time? Is it one of those things that you need the new hotness everytime something new comes out?

The clutch only sucks if you suck at using it IMO. There are plenty of guys making over 300 whp with the stock clutch and it's holding up fine. I will putting mine to the test at the end of this month when my car gets a fuel pump, high flow cat and a Dynoflash.

Explod...I never said you don't deserve your Evo. I just said that kids that get their parents to buy a Evo for them doesn't. These kids know who they are. If you pay for it then fine, but I still don't think some kid needs to drive or own one. I just used you thread to vent.
