What are people's experiences with the CH centre guage pod that lancershop sells? Apparently it's a direct replacement for the factory panel, just clips into place.

Wouldn't that be better than the hardy's panel?

Question about the Alpine CDA-9827: Do you find the display washed out in daytime? Since the Mitsu wiring harness doesn't have an illumination dimmer wire, my 9825 unit seems to default to a night time setting. It's okay at night, but during bright sunny days I can't see it at all. Do you have a similar experience with the 9827?

No, I haven't had any problems seeing the display on my CDA-9827. As a matter of fact the darn thing is so bright that I manually wired it into the dimmer switch so that it defaults to night-time settings, which IMHO are still too bright. I've actually contemplated getting small, tinted stickers to put onto the controls of the unit to cut down on the brightness. However, if I remember correctly, the 9825 has the "alpine" green illumination, whereas the 9827 is one of the few Alpines to sport blue illumination, which is really the only reason I got it...

Alright, here's what I consider poor nighttime shots at best. One is to illustrate just how bright the Alpine is (it's even in night mode). The other two are closeups of the gauges, but the pics were taken with my camcorder, so the quality pretty much sucks. My other digital cam seems to have bitten the dust, so I'm not sure when I'll get better night pix.

On a better note, I will have some pix of my dynamatted exhaust, the bare trunk (with Cusco stuff and trunk bar) as well as a unique trunk badge coming up in the next day or two.

Man, that Alpine display is bright, isn't it? I guess having my washed out Alpine Green display on the CDA-9825 is a better compromise. Thanks for sharing the photos.

Exclamation Trunk Pix

Some pix of the trunk. Everything has been stripped out and Cusco OS Aluminum strut tower brace and V-Brace have been installed. Also installed the trunk bar. Next on the list of trunk mods will be battery relocation and Infinity Basslink sub.

Post Dynamat....

Pics of how I used Dynamat to insulate against some of the droning from the Magnaflow muffler (part of the Vishnu Signature exhaust on the car). Very effective for cruising around town and stuff ... but the car still drones at interstate speeds - although not as badly as when I first put on the exhaust. I'm guessing that taking all of the trunk lining and the spare out of the trunk didn't help either, hehe
