I need advice!

I have come upon a new 03 EVO for $1000 under invoice. The price is around 27 (not sun roof). I am leaning hard towards this vehicle but was thinking I might hold out until the 05s are released. The idea of a six speed is appealing. My VW Corrado is on its death bed and ever since I drove that EVO I've been hooked.

Are there any potential trouble areas/recalls for the 03s?

Any other advice you have to offer is highly appreciated

i say get it. the 05's will have a higher msrp and there will be no way you will get a deal like that on an 05.

I would wait. I'm interested in the EVO 9. Trade in coming up...

I believe they will have lower msrp when it come out, since they'll probably produce more.

Remember, we're the trial period before they re think everything and mass produce.

I say wait. Unless you get $2000 under msrp.

I am not sure if I have that kind of time. My supercharger is about to explode on my VW.

yeah that isn't going to happen. when there is more demand to make more cars that means there is more demand to charge the price they want. msrp will stay firm. you might be able to negotiate better but thats all. nobody even knows if there will be an evo 9 . thats like saying i will wait till cars fly. why wait when you can enjoy an amazing car now.

waiting for an 05 might be reasonable if it really is coming out in Oct. but waiting for the Evo 9 i think is too far out. my 2 cents.

Just a few things to consider:

-Since the sale of Evo is less than stellar, Mitsubishi may have difficulties justifying exporting Evo 9 to America.

-There has been a rumor about Mitsubishi developing a WRC race car base on the smaller Colt platform, meaning the Lancer Evo 8 may be replaced by the Colt Evo.

-With the current financial crisis, Mitsubishi might even fold in a few years...

Buy it while it's still available.

Go drive an STi. The six speed is only slightly lower geared on the highway and honestly with the power either car makes, you might come to the same conclusion I did: the six speed is unnecessary and even a bit annoying.

I wouldn't wait for the MR, that car is going to be really expensive with all the glitz it will have.

I say go for it.....they will probably mark up the 05's like they did the 03's & 04's.
