I basically choose to run catless because it really does not make a difference lageally in MY State. Every car can shut down for a day, would not make a difference. All our pollution flows in from the Mid west industry as well as being sandwiched between Philly and and NY were are just bombarded with polution. Now If I was in beautiful clean State, like NH or VT or Maine or anythink like that, I would think different.

The percentage of car owners who are going to do something like install test pipes in place of the stock cats is miniscule. Yeah, that one car will pollute more, but in the aggregate, it will make virtually no difference.

Richard 350Z does make a valid point that the amount of people running no cat is relatively small. I do agree with him on that point, but I still think that if it causes no harm (which high flow cats have proven to do) to the power output, then I just dont see any reason not to run without one. They arent expensive, if you can spend $700 on a 3" catback, you can blow another $125 on a 3" high flow unit.

Also do not foget that adding mods like a full intake/ and ESPECIALY a full exhaust with NO cat will actually improve fuel economy, granted that you do not bang the gears or boost up. Cams do this too if you basically keep it under 3500RPMS and do not allow the turbo to spool, you will see a gain of MPG, like you can probably go 400Miles on a tank if you force it, my recod was 380 and I caved but had a lil over a gallon left, granted I was driving NON stop and never boosted.

I'll start caring about what little fraction of pollution my car puts out when logging companies stop chopping down our pollution eating trees.

Until then, what's the point, it's a losing battle anyways.

P.S: Please wrap it up, tie your tubes, take birth control. The more babies you make the more trees that die to make room for your babies and this in turn forces more rules and regulations on those of us who just wanna drive our damn cars the way we wanna drive them.

all the so call "reasons" why you guys should be allowed to run catless are just silly

if full intake and full exhaust, etc.. is suppose to be better for our cars, then the manufacturer would have done that instead of relying on all this expensive technology to keep the emission clean

and i won't even waste my time responding to forbiden's silly "argument" about birth control and logging companies..

just because you are less evil don't mean you are right.. if a serial killer kills 8000000 people, does the guy who only kill one or two people get away free because he uses the same argument?

Really there are more Environmental issues to be concerned with than if you use a cat delete or not.
World population, Cutting down of rainforest, Oil spills, Fossil fuel burring power plants, Livestock, Urban sprawl.
All of those have a larger impact.
Politicians go after cars because they have what seems a larger immediate impact, thus getting them more votes. Even if the long term affect is questionable. There are other things that goverments could do, but it will not make them popular or affect the economy in a bad way.
Does that justify anyone running catless?
No. It is still against the law, but for those trying to champion this cause you could do better by focusing you efforts elsewhere.

GUYS GIVE ME A FRIGGEN BRAKE!!!!! The amount of Evo owner is miniscule and out of that how many are running without cats? A small tiny fraction. Trust me the Tractor trailers and deisels are the biggest pollutors. Oh by the way I did here of Evos w/o cats passing emmisions. I dont if it's true but I heard it from a reputable source. I'm just going to bribe my mechanic when it's time for an inspection. But all you bleeding heart environmentalists out there wanna run w/ cats go ahead. It's not a few miesly ponies on a well tuned Evos (modified ) I saw 20 to 30 hp drop when the cats were put on and the car dynoed. The cats and the MAF are the biggest restrictions on the car. Remember that. If I only was gaining 5hp w/o a cat I would have kept it. Again I am speaking in terms about an Evo that has been modded in particular a piggyback, reflash, or stand alone EMS. The Hp drops are huge. Have any of you seen how thin your cats are?!!!
