MR Headlight installation

Does anyone here know how to install a pair of MR Headlights. I took my car to the dealership, but they weren't able to finish because of fitment issues. It seems that I need to replace the High beam bulb and foglight to match the housing. They also said that the actuator that moves the lights up and down is not compatible. Please help.

Thanks

That's a ton of crap. What fitment issues are they talking about? The housings are the same size as the US ones.

As far as replacing bulbs, the JDM headlight housing uses the same size bulbs as the US model except for the foglight. The US model uses the H11 bulb while the JDM housing uses the 9006 bulb. You will also need to replace your parking light 194 bulb with an amber one. You'll also need a 9006 harness and splice it into your existing H11 wiring.

Blinding oncoming traffic is a strong term. My MR headlights don't project directly into the field of view of oncoming traffic, but the apex point is slightly skewed to the left. While this helps to illuminate road signs on the left hand side of the road, I have driven towards my own car and have not had any complaints of blinding. I would be more blinded by someone oncoming with 8300K HID's than the OEM D2S bulbs in our headlights.

Sorry, 8300K was just what I saw on the box of my friend's HID upgrade kit that blinded the crap out of me in his truck.

correct the higher the temp, the more glare. =more blinding to upcomming traffic. unfortunately the higher temp also has a more purplish hue. it is a misconception that the purple ones are brighter, just because the temp is higher.

Lower color temp means brighter = more usable light = tons of glare = bliding on comming traffic.
