sorry to bring this thread back from the dead, but I just wanted to double check something. A buddy of mine just recently installed an MBC on his IX and while doing so damaged his stock boost control solenoid..so he removed it.
Is it okay to run the car as is with nothing connected to the stock bcs wire harness?

I think you should still have the stock boost control solenoid plugged into the harness just cap off the vacuum ports.

Yea I know that's normally how it's done, I just wanted to know if anything would be affected tune-wise if he left it as is...or should he go out and buy back a stock solenoid?

Iight guys i hate to revive an old post but it seems a couple people asked this questions and i didn't see a reply to it, so here goes i installed the hallman MBC just like the DIY no issues i got one hose going to the waste gate one to to turbo inlet and the hose that was coming off of the i guess stock boost controller ecu thing is just hanging freely. In a 3rd gear pull i hit 21 psi and taper down to 16 which is fine, suddenly after driving around for about an hour or so bam goes into limp mode starts talking about ACS System service required and what not and drops down to like 20 mph, after a quick turn on turn off it goes away and then comes back the check engine light stays on of course. So my question is what do i now? i have my bov on environmental i was thinking maybe it needs to recirc so it can have proper air flow for the added boost but im not sure. As far as i could tell i didnt see an restrictor pills in any hoses that i switched out and i didn't touch the hose that i disconnected....sigh -_-" sorry i forgot to add this help me please!!! =)

Hello! If I want to control boost with the ecu based on psi, do I have to remove my manual boost controller, and return everything to the stock setup?

Thank you.
