has anyone used the HP-1008 gold perfromance oil filter from K&N? i could swear last time i got K&N the model number was HP-1010....i wanna make sure this douche bag at advanced auto got me the right one.

yeah i only live in Ambridge......hop skip and a jump over to Wexford. Thats kool on the deal i already bought the Mobil and fliter but forsure next time im going with Royal so i will be seeying ya, do u have some good tranny fluids there also?

Don't have the tranny fluid in stock but if you give us a days notice i'll get it. You just missed our tune at the shop on wednesday. Boy Al did wonders. bye the way im Jeremy.

 

I have looked into this matter. If you check K&N's site and cross reference books you will see that the 1008 is listed for the '03 and '04 Evos and the larger capacity 1010 is listed for the '05 cars. I have been using the 1010 since last winter when I could no longer get the old style mitsu filters. I am going to test the spring rate in the pressure relief of the old style mitsu filter, the new mitsu filter, and the k&n 1010 filter soon just because I'm ocd like that.

 

yeah i wanted to come out and meet all you guys but i turned out to be busy...im not used to other Evo owners around now, years ago it was just me and Jeff (yellow evo)....ive had mine since first month they came. So do u own the shop? and are u able to get any Evo items or are u like an advanced auto type store? what color do you have?....also all the Evo's around need to follow me to Jerry's curb service in bridgewater one friday night, its a hot spot for cars (and rice lol) old cars new cars, but it would be sooo sweet if like 5 Evo's just came rolling in,and there food kicks azz. Oh and the waitresses are fine lol....

well i have actually used both myself with no problems. but i did call k&n to see really what the difference was and which one was correct. they did say it was just the spring tension. I do have an 03 so im not really sure about the 05's tho.

 

HP-1010 is for the base Lancer, use HP-1004

 

WAIT is this Al's shop in Pitts. i am orriganly from sewickley, the Ambridge guy know where i am talking about but i am in the military, stationed here at NC. because i was just up there last month but i saw no evo's. if his shop is there i am going to come up.
