Sergio, the Greddy SP2 is not a popular choice, the Greddy EvoII would be your best bet, plus remember, you are going to Germany soon and you will need a cat, the Greddy EvoII with its huge muffler and his big 3" silencer plus your already in hand 3"HF cat should be fine.

If you want, wait 3 weeks until I go there to Colorado Springs to visit you , Mostlikely I will take my car there then you could heard my exhaust with the 3 HF cat and make your decision.

only thing that stopped me from getting the evo2 was that i heard it wasnt a true 3" all through design. i believe it necked down at the resonator and i believe before the cat also. not positive but someone else can be the call of that. btw it says the dc sports fits the stock cat so doesnt that mean that it tapers down to 2.5?

If you'd like my opinion I would check out the Vishnu Exhaust, a complete 3inch exhaust from the downpipe back with a 3in cat and it has a gigantic resonator which keeps the noise at bay, unless of course if your racing

HKS are relatively quiet at idle. No drone at FWY speeds, but definately louder than stock at WOT and higher RPM's.

Hands down RS*R EXMAG dam close to stock FUJITSUBO is also close thats it.

remember turbo charged cars are not nearly as loud as naturally aspirated cars ,exhaust note wise that is.

One thing that people don't realize is the decibel level a car emits depends on the setup of the car itself. Obviously an Evo running stock boost levels with the stock turbo and X brand TBE will be much quieter than an Evo running 2bar with the stock turbo or aftermarket turbo and X brand TBE.

Also, any exhaust setup with a test pipe of some sort instead of car will always make the car much louder... the cat acts as a silencer. Resonators also quiet down exhausts a bit.

In my honest opinion, the stock cat-back exhaust mated with the stock cat is by far the quietest I've heard on an Evo... but that's common knowledge. If you want power and sheer quietness, look into purchasing a cut-out setup.

Get ANY exhaust, bring it to a muffler shop and have them weld in a resonator.

RS*R Ex Mag <- heard this is barely louder than stock
WORKS ABM <- my favorite because it's quiet (a little louder than stock -- nice growl) and looks very nice installed. Angle-cut tip is beautiful.
Rhys Millen Racing (RMR) <- a little louder than the WORKS ABM. I used to have this one, but hated the JDM angled look

Where is the slip fit? At the muffler itself? The piping looks like it's flanged on RMR's site...

I didn't see any slip fit anywhere in that exhaust. I removed the entire thing, and it was bolted at flanges everywhere. DP to turbo, DP to cat, cat to IP, IP to muffler, all bolted.

Sort of bringing back from the dead...

Has anyone seen the Turbo Magazine 12 way exhaust shootout for Evo 8s?

The one that came out with numbers near stock for loudness was the TurboXS...strange for a small can, straight through exhaust. Anyone out there able to speak from experience
