They did not post whether the exhausts had resonator or not. That may be what quieted it up.

Yeah just read that today...and the RSR, which everyone swears is as quiet as stock, was significantly louder than stock. I wish they had tested a number of others that are available, mine included! There was quite a bit of spread between the lowest and highest numbers.

Has anyone seen the Turbo Magazine 12 way exhaust shootout for Evo 8s?

The one that came out with numbers near stock for loudness was the TurboXS...strange for a small can, straight through exhaust. Anyone out there able to speak from experience
is this a recent/new issue? i'd like to take a look at this.

Yes, this month's issue. Can't remember what car is on the front...might be a Supra. I recall a few 1,000+hp Supras being featured in that issue.

It's the one that came out on the newsstand a cocuple of days ago...has a Supra on the cover and also a lame review of Buddy Club (read: shameless product plug because magazine ****** got them for free) coilovers for Evo 8.

^^ megan uses a true 3" design while the REAL hks hi power tapers to 2.75 to fit the cat..unless megan has another design.. question: if i got a 3" dp and a 2.75 catback this would cause some problems with the flow correct, and of course the fitment

I had the HKS Hi-Power on my car for a week, with the stock downpipe and cat. Took it off because it was too loud even cruising and at idle. I had to turn the stereo UP to drown out the drone on the highway. The Hi-Power is substantially louder than stock or the Fujitsubo. It's not GReddy Ti loud granted but no one would fool it's noise level for a stocker.

Wonder if there's any difference in sound between the 9.8 and 10.5 hotsides?

Where did you heard that? I understand the Evo2 is a true 3" all through design...

I think the 'cop friendly' exhaust that he is referring to is this:

http://www.tanabe-usa.com/exhausts/medaliontouring.asp

True 3 inch all the way through...I sitting on the sidelines until I hear some feedback from actual buyers. Too bad they are not planning an Evo version of the Medalion Concept G...I kinda like the more JDM look. Still is this gives decent results and 93dB at all rpms, I'm in

A buddy of mine has the turboxs dp on his IX, no issues, believe it was originally made for the VIII, has a test pipe as well but I think he will be going back to the stock cat as well....
