Stainless Manifold Stud help

I am looking at replacing the studs and am looking for some advice on the best way to do this. I want to have the best so i don't have to worry about this stinking manifold again. Thanks!

I've used those SS studs on my DSM. I thought they would be a good idea and solution to having longer lasting studs, but I was wrong! The nuts galled themselves to the studs when I later tried to remove them, turning many of the studs and nuts into bolts. My recommendation is to just stick to the stock stuff. I would stay away from any stainless fasteners for high temperature applications.

I appreciate what you are saying although I had them preinstalled on a head in one of old DSM's and they didn't give me any trouble.

I am still open to install ideas!

We can still use the stock studs after removing them right?

Yes.

I got the manifold studs removed. Now I need to figure out a non-destructive way to install the new studs. Any ideas anyone or am I the ONLY person to do this to their EVO?

Go to Autozone and ask to rent a MEtric Stud remover/install tool. Its a small red box with sockets. Each sockets have these little blocks in them that grip the stud so its not damaged. Turn the sockets left to remove studs and turn it right to install. Super easy.

into the head?

use two nuts, lock them together, and turn.

then hold one nut with a wrench, loosen the other with a socket..

^ Exactly how mine was done. Took 10 minutes. SS threads into clean aluminum threads like butter. I turned most of them in by hand.
