That MachV link was worth bookmarking.

If the DSM seals wont fit, why not order the OEM seals from Mitsubishi ?

apparantly not, you can only replace the entire unit. Its part #07704 according to the parts catalog. I ordered the replacement seals from MachV. I had them overnighted as well so hopefully by tomorrow evening I will know if they will work or not.

I ordered these seals as well. $19.00 for two little seals. I have not had the time to fix the leak yet. I am also intimidated about removing and disasembling the throttlebody. Good luck nigeltsyz. Post back your outcome. When i do my repair, im gonna make sure i have plenty of time with no one bothering me in the garage. Also i hope you have a 2nd car just in case.

Please keep us posted.

If this turns out right.

Maybe this can become a "Sticky".

If you guys need an FSM, I can show you where to look.

ok guys, i've secured a digital camera to document the process. Wish me luck. If anyone has a shop manual I could "borrow" I'd be eternally grateful.

Here's a link from my website

Complete FSM

Throttle Body
http://www.4g63t.net/2005_FSM/GR00003400-13A.pdf

It doesn't appear to give a good breakdown of the throttle
body components.

Well keep us updated nigletsyz, I would like to know the outcome of this project, and see if these seals really do help keep this leak under control. I had this same exact leak on my SRT-4 at the TB, where the shaft is.

Ok I finished up this project. It held up to 1.5 Bar before my boost leak tester self-destructed. Prior to installing the new seals, it leaked at anything past 2-3psi. I will post up the how-to tomorrow. I took lots of pics (need to resize and edit) and found some better, easier ways of doing the install than the previous how-to for the DSMs IMHO.

I do give credit to the guys who posted up the DSM vFAQ, otherwise I probably wouldn't have attempted this myself.

Excellent work !

So is it safe to assume the seals from MachV fit the Evo Throttlebody ?
