Did this today with 13-0 and the car drives like a new evo again. What I mean is that the irritating jerkiness at parking lot speeds has smoothed out incredibly. I had about 300lbs of tools in the car on the way back home so I really didn't get on it much but it does spool faster and has a sensation of more immediate boost.

On another related note I believe I let the car cool down for too long because with the boost leak tester at the throttle body I would loose boost, not as qucikly as before the seal install mind you. We could actually hear the air moving past the piston rings when listening through the oil inlet on the valve cover. Anyone else have this happen when trying to pressurize the system?

Man I thought I was going crazy this last month. As I stated above I did a boost leak test earlier this month and found the shaft seals are leaking BAD. Anyhow, I could have SWORN by car has felt extra jerky at low speeds. I thought I was just being crazy! Why would that jerkiness occur from bad shaft seals?

I might be doing this tomorrow if my friend sells me the seals... he has them for his DSM that he hasnt driven in like 2 years haha.

I've added the seals to our Evo web site, so hopefully you can add a T-shirt or another Evo trinket to your order and amortize the shipping over a couple of items.

As always, thanks for your business.

Damn MachV, what up with that $10 shipping charge on the seals! You could just put them in a regular envelop and ship them for $0.39!!!!

On a side note, as I said, I am planning on doing the seals sometime this week, hopefully tomorrow... must I buy a new TB gasket or can I re-use my old one? Thanks!

We ship everything UPS, because over the years that's what our customers have requested. People don't like not having tracking numbers. Our web site calculates UPS shipping based on your address.

We're flexible, though: We can send them United States Postal Service for $1. Just write that in the "Comments" section of your order. Keep in mind, though, that USPS has NO tracking number, and if it's lost or damaged...you'll just have to order them again.

I would recommend picking up a new gasket. I think they retail for $13 but it's worth not having another leak spring up from trying to fix an old one

Yes. It's now on the site, and linked from the throttle seals page.

I changed the seals last week and the car picked up a very noticable amount of power. Did a leak test and it came out good.

Also just had to have my idle reset with a MUt-II scanner. Apparently the seals were so bad that it threw everything out of calibration. I was getting a DTC P0507: Idle Control System RPM Higher Than Expected code after replacing my t/b seals. Car is a dream to drive. Idle is very consistent and no longer bogs low when coming to stop with a/c on. I just wonder if the failure of these seals contributed to the failure of my idle air controller...

Come oooooonnnn.... Just do it while the throttle body and intake are out of there. Can't hurt by catching a problem before it is a problem

Yea and it seems inevitable that it will become a problem!

I do like the fact that these replacement seals have a metal ring surrounded by the rubber seal material as opposed to the stock seals which have the metal ring on the outer face. Seems as though the 3390's will just give us a better all around seal.
