Probably because all the commercially available seals of the correct dimensions are only rated at 7psi.

To get the proper seal made we had to talk to many different manufactures. We are pretty sure that even the factory seals installed by Mitsubishi are the same 7psi rated junk seals

Our custom spec seals are on the way, we should see them this summer some time... We will keep you guys updated.

Oh, and as far as pricing, lets just say that it should less than a tank of gas

I was just teasing. I'd gladly pay for something that actually seals properly

PS: Can I prepay to be sure I get a set as soon as they come out?

Wow, didn't even know people were having problems with the NAPA seals not holding up.

Which are the napa seals? I've been ordering the green ones from MachV for liek 11.00. I'm on my 3rd set trying different things and they still leak. I have a hell of a time getting the seals to sit flush. Tonight I even took a wire brush on the dremel to make sure everything was clean... used a lot of grease.. no luck it still leaks like crazy.

I'm to the point of just putting RTV everywhere and hoping that will stop the leak :\

Oh crap! That sounds like a bunch of no good... I've got several spares in the trunk of my car. I'll grab them in the morning and give you a part number you can give to your local napa.

The SKF brand oil seal, part number 3930, size 10x14x3 offered by NAPA is what I've been replacing leaking oem throttle body shaft seals with in cars that I see. None of those cars have had symptom one of a leak ever since. I replaced the seals on my car with those from Mach V and like you, have developed a substantial boost leak only allowing me to hold 19-20 psi as of last night. The seals I purchased from Mach V were brown and looked considerably different from the ones I have been using from napa. The napa seals also fit MUCH better. What color are the seals that you have received from Mach V?

[QUOTE=dbdude;3239547] I decided to check for boost leaks and i found some. I connected my tester straight to the air intake maniold and started pumping. There was a loud hiss coming from the 1st fuel injector. As you can see in the pic, the black O-ring is not mounted properly so i took care of it. Now i hear a hiss coming from the throttle body. When i pull the throttle cable, the hissing changes tones. As you can see in the pic i pointed at the area with green arrows. Im not sure if there is anything i can do besides buying a new one and hope that it dont leak either. Is there any adjustment like a screw or gasket that takes care of it? Im only making about 5psi at the manifold leaking very slowly. Have any of you guys ever tested this area? I also checked all the other IC pipes and everything held up to 20+psi. Dont just read. Please help. Im sure many of you evo owners have this problem but dont know about it.

The ones I got from MachV are green. They tear up trying to get them to sit flush.. not a perfect fit for me at least.

I cleaned everything up real nice today and put it back together with a injector o-ring between the spring side of the shaft and the seal It looks like it will seal pretty good but I haven't leak tested yet.

Either way I'll get these from Napa tomorrow and give it a try!

Thanks!

Edit: They look a lot alike

I need to redo a leak test as well.

I've checked on Napa web site the pn#, I haven't found anything whick looks like those seals... Do you know why? or can you give me a link?

I've got the MachV seals so far. I don't know if it fixed completely the issue but I've felt a significant difference between before and after. One of the stock seal was completely destroyed.
