meth burns without a flame. you don't see it until you feel it... its BANNED from Indy.

I am a nitpicker for details sorry. Indy cars run 90% methanol. In 2007 they are switching to ethanol.

ahhh... brainfart. you see, continual exposure to meth can cause nervous system damage.

its really easy to recalibrate you TPS with tatrix cables and evoscan- just set your TPS idle to 13.33% while car is running and your golden

awesome write-up, thank you!!
initial impressions: stalls at red lights and hesitation under WOT gone

can anybody confirm this: "Screw in the plate and you're done. If you installed it correctly, the top of the butterfly valve should open inward to the Intake Manifold side."
the only way I could get it back together was for the bottom to open towards the intake manifold

does anybody know what the green arrow is pointing to in this picture? I couldn't figure out what its use is... seems to just be two flexible strips of metal with a rubber coating, attached at one end to one of the screws that holds the TPS on.

Lol, those are just metal holders to secure the wires from your sensors. You just open them up, slip in your wires/wiring harness and fold the flexible metal holders in to secure them.

hehe I considered that, but over-analyzed it and thought there must be a better use.

there are a couple mistakes as I did the write up a day later but I can't go back in and edit them anymore. I believe you are correct being that the throttle shaft will get turned clockwise when stepping on the accelerator.

Question

Damn am I glad i found this! I found my throttle shaft was leaking about 6 months ago, and have been living with it thinking the only thing i can do is replace the whole damn TB. I just ordered my seals!

I had 3 injectors leaking air at one time.....but a second time I did a leak check they didnt..

How exactly do you do this? Are you moving the sensor with ecuscan running and making adjustments til it his 13.33%? Mine was a hair off @ 14.2%.

Oh yeah and definately buy a new TB gasket when you do this. Mine is leaking like crazy now

===

Update

Set the TPS to 13.3 adjusting it and reading the value on mitsulogger (evoscan alternative).

I used some gasket maker rtv stuff on the tb/intake mani gasket which has it 100% sealed. Now the freaking tb shaft seals are leaking again. It holds boost better than before during a leak test but it's still leaking

The only thing I noticed during the install was the new seals didnt seat as snug as the stockers were... did anyone else notice this? I used the seals from machv.

i noticed one of the seals seated better than the other. However, after I installed them, I leak tested the system and both held the pressure fine.

Did you make sure there was no residue from the old seal?

I'm pretty sure but I could have goofed something up. I'm going to pull it all apart and order another set of seals just in case.

sorry i didnt see this before- but seems like you figured it out- its relativly easy to with the car running! much easier than the previous way i did which was measure volts to .068 or whatever- that ended up being off also which registered as 12.78%tps

Wow.. glad I searched this. My CEL keeps coming on and I checked it at the zone and it came up as TPS then today the light went out randomly. It had been going off and on for a while. the driveablity of the car was getting on my nerves too since it is so rough and it acts like it is being vented.

I kept saying It has to be a leak but never did check. of course never would have expected this anyway. This thread may have just saved me from buying a new TPS. I also noticed I hit fuel cut really easy at weird amounts of boost sometimes and weird throttle possition so now im thinking this is all related. BTW a tad under 41K on my 03

for this write up and info
