Where is a safe place to Jack up your evo9MR
Hey guys...On my 2003 evo I would jack up from the same spot I just jacked up my new MR but noticed that after I was done working on the car I noticed the floor panel on the driver and passenger side where my feet go was raised up...Has anyone else had this problem...is there a way of fixing it and where would you recomend jacking the car up. BTW can any damage be caused by that raising since it is not part of the frame??
Thanks guys and please don't flame...I am still a newb. I tried a search as well and had no luck...

^ Ouch. You have to remove the underpanel to get to the jackpoint on the front of the EvoIX. I personally use Rhino ramps with some wood to get my front end up. I use the differential to get the back up.
Thanks dude....The only thing is we were swaping out wheels or I would have used a ramp. Do you think any damage is done that could be long term by what happened...and now at least I know its underpanel that needs to be taken off to get to it...thanks =)
The 9's dont have a little ridge on the front of the rocker panels near the wheels like the 8's do? This is where I jack my 8. What you could also do is jack up the car in the front crossmember. There is a small bump on there made for jacking. Anothe place you can jack up the car is on the frame rails where the two pieces meet together and form a strong bond.
No damage and you could just stomp on the bump to make it go back down. Now you know not to use that place as a jack point.

Awesome guys thanks for all the advice. BTW I took a look at where I had jacked up the car to begin with and the floor pannel where my feet go is raised a little. It does not look like it did any damage to the frame of the car. Any suggestions on how to bring it back to its normal level or if no harm can be done by it I may just leave it because it does not really bother me.
Thanks!
Thanks!
just a quick hint that ive read around (and that I can verify works). Afer you jack the car up with the propper jack points youre going to want to use jackstands. When you do, youll notice that the specified jackstand spots on the frame are thin metal and will bend when you use jackstands with a flat top. A simple way to not bend those spots all out of whack is to buy four hockey pucks and cut a groove about three quarters of the way through them. Pop them onto the jackstand spots (if you cut the groove the right width theyll stay on by themselves) thenlower the car down. voilla! no bent metal.
