Hey, i've got one Type 0 black left over I havent sold. I've got harnesses too. I'll give you a good deal on them. PM me if you're interested.

It's not the harness kit that needs to be long, its the cables that extend out of the turbo timer and plug into the harness. Most likely you'll need to cut and extend them to do that. Not hard at all.

Will the HKS type 0 turbo timer fit in the ash tray recess?
And does it have to be connected to the parking brake wire?

I installed this just as you said and I am possitive I got the ECU wires you mentioned but something is wierd. I switch it to RPM mode and it is about 1000 RPM's off so then I switch to learn mode but everytime I click T2 when it hits 2000rpms it just gives a long beep and doesnt learn at all. Ive tried this multiple times and it still wont learn. Everything else works great however I have one function that doesn't work completley. The speed function will NOT work. It stays at 0 the whole time. I am a little confused as to what I did wrong here. Anyone care to help?

Thanks
Chris

might want to just recheck the wires you tapped.. make sure they tapped.. skim the directions (directions! yey), you should be fine..

let us know how it goes. if it doesnt work maybe theres somethin wrong with the unit itself (or maybe u didnt push the metal male/female in hard enough.. u know, where the ecu wires meet the hks unit)

Well, me and my buddy Joe followed your guide to the tee (the install went pretty smooth), we also used the HKS provided directions... one small problem though: everything but the turbo timing works. The TT can monitor RPM's fine, 0-400 times and etc.; and to top it off (don't know if this is related to the TT install), but his left tail light doesn't come on anymore (and left rear turn signal light too). I figured maybe the parking brake wire wasn't spliced into all the way, and that's why the car just shuts off even when the TT is in manual mode (like HKS's directions say), but I don't see how the left rear tail light won't work now. We even checked the fuse for it, and it was good to go. Has anyone experienced this? Any info from you wiring/electrical system gurus would be greatly appreciated.

-Zigen

P.S.- We took his EVO out after the TT was installed today, and he managed three 13.6 second 0-400 times... anyone know what the margin for errors on these things are? In other words, how accurate are they?

Someone please help!!! I installed my TT according to this write up. But, when I turn the car on, the TT doesn't light up. It beeps when I turn the car off, but not light or display. Also, if I push the wires in the back of the TT towards the TT, it almost stalls, and sometimes jumps up to 2000 rpms What is the deal? Please help, my car is still in pieces.

i have the HKS MT-6 harness and it is grounded. i finally got it workingl. turns out the problem was that the ground was on a piece of metal that couldn't serve it's roll as a ground. Moved the ground and everything works. Thanks for the input anyway though.

I put mine where the cheesy clock was. I dont have a picture but it sure looks tall. Im sure you can imagine. I used some foam tape above and below to fill the gap. Totally professional, a little trimming was needed, the blue backlighting is mad annoying though. Great help man, keep it up.

Vanilla Sky, thanks a ton for the pics and write up. Got it taken care of over lunch today.

(the following copied from another thread I posted in)

Just to clarify here, you need to remove the 10mm nut behind the hood release latch.

The clips holding the foot well piece into the dash simply pop right out. Raise your steering wheel all the way up to pry out the right side of that piece.

Also when you are putting things back together, release the steering wheel tilt lever. I kept trying and cursing the lower portion of the steering column and then I realized my stupidity.
