great write up.

i have a type 0, my friend was installing it but didnt know where to tap the wire for the preset time set feature that gauges the temperature of the car and sets a time for cool down rather than a 60 sec cool down when turning off. could someone guide me to where the wire should be tapped?

thanks.

oh and i have an IX.

Man this sucks..no updated ecu diagram. I called the dealership and they don't have one, called hks and they don't know. I am trying to figure out what wires to tap into for my HKS Type 1 TT. I figured out which one the blue wire taps into but as for the RPM sensor wire...which one is that? Anyone?

I had super autobacs install my HKS type 1 TT...( i know lame but i didnt know how to do it)

It works fine when it comes to using the TT except the extra feutures arent working besides like the stop watch..do you think they didnt wire up the extra wires into the ecu???

I found somewhere online showing how to calibrate it but it didnt work so i dunno if it was the correct way...

If someone has time can you please post or PM me the correct way to calibrate the RPM/Speed, otherwise if it doesnt work than i know they didnt install it 100% correct

that looks good. Well I installed mine at my house to save money, I don't know about the stopwatch, 0-60,1/8 or 1/4 mile features since I haven't tried it yet but I got the other featers like the rpm and speed working just fine on mine. You do have to tap into the ecu to get them to work. I will try to take a picture and post up soon...well in a few days since I am out of town but its not that hard.

Quick question... just wired up a black Type-O. Getting the harness in there was a pain in the *** but it was worth it in the end. Now, is there a way to get to the parking brake wire without having to tear out the center console and such? What color wire do I need to splice into?

what I did to mine is just take the ash tray thing of the console first. then you can try running the cords in the open slot going to the hand brake location. if i'me not mistaken the hand brake color is red and blue single chord.

@ iheartevos--what did you put on the TT to make iy stick? Coz 3m double adhesive tape won't do the trick on my part.keeps on falling.

I have the type 0 and I think I answered my own question by reading the HKS description on the website. Here's what I was asking anyway:

My question is about the brown wire. It's not the ebrake wire because I see where that one goes and it's gray. The brown wire does not apper to have been hooked up (I think it might be the RPM wire from a quick search) and the timer worked fine. I just want to make sure it's ok to have it unhooked.

Answer:
I think I can do without the brown wire with the result being that I won't have the feature that adjusts the idle time based on the drive I just took. No big deal to me but correct me if I'm wrong.

Thanks
