Would a heat gun and knife work to open the lens?

Listen to this guy if you are going to blackout your tails.

I went with the heat gun and blade... look what happened....

So I had to go and buy aftermarket lights...

I also blacked out my headlights... They turned out good!!

This is where it gets fun. You now get to use your trusty Dremel tool and cut the lens from the backing. You will need to cut fairly deep. Just take you time and be patient.
are the taillights not able to be heated to take them apart. instead of hacking them up?

If you use a heat gun your more liable to melt the housing if not careful or crack the lens itself and probably hurt yourself if the blade slips but not saying you cant, you can but it would take much longer. They're not made like the headlights, how u can just bake em and just pop em open
