Remove Gauge pack from RS require removing HVAC piece?

I have seen the DIY's etc about moving gauge pack around, changing bulbs etc and they involve several steps, but my project is simpler:

I am about to attempt removing a gauge pack from an Evo IX RS to sell and make some money for new gauges.

Since, its at the bottom with the HVAC peice containing a block-off plate, I was wondering if I can take the bottom piece off seperately without messing with the HVAC piece for now at all till I get my gauges/gruppe-s panel etc... I am not sure if its wired such that everything needs to come off...I am hoping not!

Thanks much!

well on mine i had moved the gauges from the bottom to the top and just rerouted the wires. they provide enough wiring to move the gauges around. i also installed my radio in the bottom where the gauges were. you can also switch the gauges around.
