Oil light issue

I have been experiencing the same issue with my oil light but is a little different. I have an 05 Evo 8 Gsr. My oil light started off flickering when i was at idle and would go away once i snapped the throttle. It now has gotten to the point where it stays on permanently. After it started flickering it would stay on until i went past 3,500 rpms. Now it stays on regardless of my Rpm range. Has anyone else had this issue. The car still runs great and i havent noticed a change in the driveability. My car has either the original sensor or aftermarket sensor but has at least 5 years of use on it and the car itself has 122,000 miles. I also noticed once the oil light came on my aftermarket oil temp pillar gauge would not read a temperature but would still light up like it works. Any thoughts???

Don't use Teflon tape it will leak over time. Oil eats through it. Use RTV instead I know from experience.

I've worked on cars for 59 years, have used teflon tape since its invention and have never experienced this. You do have to be careful with teflon tape in this use; you don't want it adrift in the oiling circuit.

Teflon is used on nonstick frying pans and what is the definition of frying?
