HKS Turbo Timer Type 1 on Evo8 problem

Installed the timer w/harness via the thread in the how-to forum and it was a simple install

Timer is sitting above my steering wheel at the moment, speed/rpm wires are hooked up, and the wire to the parking brake is also hooked up. The ground is on a solid grounding point.

Driving down the road I can see that the RPM is spot on and the mph/kph are spot on.

I set up the timer to be on Auto but every time i turn the car off it just turns off.. So i turned Auto off and set manual mode to 1.5min and it still just turns off.

any help is appreciated
thanks

I'm thinking it's your parking brake lead wire. Make sure you spliced the right cable on your parking brake.

I spliced the blue w/red stripe that is the single wire coming from the parking brake switch towards a bundle. It may have not spliced completely so I'm going to check that but its 3am Ill check it in the morning

Thanks

Wait, are you pulling up your parking brake first before you turn off the car? If not, try that...

Something weird happened...

Drove to a gas station, got gas, went to start car and i guess i didn't have the clutch all the way in but nothing happened so i immediately turned the key back and tried again... the turbo timer started counting down, I started the car then turned it off and it worked "kept the car running" I then set the Ebrake down and it turned off like its supposed to.

I think there is something with my ignition or I dont know

It is still not working but it did work that one time "I have not been able to replicate"
