How to level car for Tcase fluid change/check

I have myself all paranoid that my method of making sure the car is level for T-case and Trans fluid changes isn't right.

I have been using a level on the metal behind the sideskirt for front to back and a level on the underbrace for side to side.

Is this good enough?

My garage isn't level enough to make sure that the tcase is filled properly with car sitting on ground.

Also, it's hard to tell from the shape of the Tcase what direction would lead to overfilling/underfilling.

Thanks

I usually will make the car as level as possible (using jack stands). Then I fill the T-Case up until fluid leaks out. Then depending on how un-level the car is I'll have someone else pour more fluid in while I'm under the car and when I feel there's enough (before more leaks out), I quickly put the plug back in.

I attach a magnetic level on the undercarriage when I have the car in the air. I drive up my Race Ramps then jack the rear up by the diff. Make sure to drive the car around the block then try to stuff more fluid in it.

Okay, so you guys don't seem to concerned about overfilling?

That was my main worry. I know I'm not underfilling. But I was reading about overfilling the tcase leading to seal problems, fluid leaks and then tcase death.

UGH. stupid forums if you read enough I think you can convince yourself that there's a problem with pretty much everything.

Just went out and checked again. It's definately comin out of the fill hole when I pull the plug out. So I think I'm good.

I would think that a couple extra ounces wouldn't be bad.

I've changed it like 4-5 times before and never worried about it.

I guess I'll continue not worrying about it

thats how you tell the level by overfilling it. When the fluid starts to spill out then its filled full.

I generally have tried to jack up all four corners and get the car as level as possible. That's a lot of extra work when filling can be accomplished by just raising the passenger front.

I guess it would be good to know HOW MUCH Extra fluid can be put in the Tcase when the car is high on the passenger side.

I really don't see slight overfilling as a problem. I mean stuffing an entire quart into the thing could be bad though right?

I guess my question is "How much is too much?"

You will never be able to fill an extra quart so dont worry. If you worried so much about it bring it to my cousins shop and will do it for you, just pay for labor.

Paying someone to do it for me is totally out of the question. Just had some concerns about having the right amount in there. Which considering the endless threads about Tcase death, i don't think is abnormal.

Also, driving to Canton for a fluid change just seems retarded
Thanks for the offer though.

I always just jack up the passenger side as high as I can...then fill until the fluid starts to come out...and then put the plug back in and call it a day...

I've always done it this way and never had any kinds of problems...
