how to wire gauges?

I've done a few hours of reading/research/looking around in the car and have gotten to the point where I'm pretty stumped

I have a depo boost gauge and a depo oil pressure gauge along with an aem wideband. I removed the factory A pillar and have a glowshift 3 gauge A Pillar pod with the speaker cut out.

I understand the colors of the wires (red-power, black-negative, orange to ACC for amber light during day time)

However, I need someone who has actually done this before to help walk me through. I'm not sure where the boost sensor goes, or the oil pressure sensor, I also have no clue how to wire these things. The boost gauge has 2 inserts on the back (one for the sensor and the other for the wires; but the wires are too short to actually reach anywhere, do I need to get extra wires?)

If anyone can help PLEASE pm me... I'm sure I can do something in return for your time.

If anyone in the 916 area has done this/is willing to help me do this that would also be GREATLY appreciated

you need to lengthen the wires on the back of the gauges to where they need to go
the boost gauge needs to be tapped into the fpr vacumn line if possible

i would reccomend getting bettter gauges i have never had good luck with glowshift gauges maybe its just me though :/

anyone else?

I cut the FPR line in half and inserted a T-fitting and used it for the boost pressure sensor

BTW I have DEPO gauges, they are very similar to defi and prosport.

So you have yoir boost input it seems like, now you just need your oil pressure. Do you have the sensor for the oil pressure? On the oil filter housing there is an accessory port that you can use for the oil pressure sensor. Reference this link to see: http://store.forcedperformance.net/m...vo_Oil_Install

You will need to lengthen your wires which is easy to do. You will need solder, a soldering gun, flux, heat shrink, wire, wire cutters, wire strippers, and a heat gun. First strip the ends of the two wires that you want to attach together to make a longer one. Strip approx 1/2" off both pieces. I like to use the j-hook method but you can use whichever you like, reference this link : http://www.mmxpress.com/technical/connections.htm

Thank you BenJ! Finally someone posts a response with valuable information!

I mounted the boost sensor in the engine bay and routed the wire into the glovebox, will take pics and post when I have a chance

I have the oil pressure sensor and will be mounting that and the wideband tonight.

I will try doing the wiring today too. What did you tap into for power/ground/etc? I have the glovebox, A pillar, and center console all removed currently so any more help is appreciated

Thanks again benj
