Yes it will. Hold the brake down for a few seconds to completly drain the system also. If you have not corrected the cause of the SES light it will probably return soon, depending on what it was.

another quick way is to open under hood fuse box, pull the two fuses that have what appears to be an engine,1 is the#8 20A fuse and the other is the #15 15A fuse.leave out for at least 1 minute and reinstall.you just reset you ecu,and are all set,no ses lite and no history code either, and like stated above,if there is still a problem,it will come back. The good thing about doing it this way is that the radio presets are not lost and after a while you will notice that your battery terminal end on cable will no longer tighten enough to provide a positive contact(that is after 50 or so times of disconnecting/reconnecting).Hope this helps

you can take the positive and negative terminals off of the battery and make an electrical contact between them. (the cables, not the battery terminals) touch them together or use a piece of wire. then reconnect them to the battery.

Yes sir it will....and if you wanted to go one step further...and you DON'T have a stiffining cap for a stereo system...take both battery terminals and put them together while they are OFF of the battery for like 5 seconds....everything will reset for 100% sure

try this, disconnect the negative for 5 seconds and then put it back on... it will work, plus you won't lose all of your radio settings
