emailed Japanese Classic Cars out of Richmond, VA the other day ... they will most likely be all over the Evos when they come to into legal terms ... here was their reply ...

Unfortunately our policy is not to import vehicles newer than 25 years. As far as we know, you cannot legally import a complete vehicle newer than 25 years. We will be bringing those vehicles and Subarus over when they're legal.
Concerning colors, it does seem those particular colors were more popular in Japan."
