OEM Clock idea
OEM Clock idea
So... I had a cool idea... I have scoured for WEEKS looking for something. I believe I am going to have to do a custom one off job for this, unless ya'll can help me find something.
I have plans (on my 03 evo) to relocate my radio, and put in that cool nifty 3 gauge cluster in its place. What I would like to do, is a boost gauge on the left, an analog clock in the middle, and some yet undetermined gauge on the right... (any "useful gauge" ideas are welcome btw)
Which leads my to my cool idea. The OEM clock. Does anyone make ANYTHING else that can fit where the OEM clock is. My cool idea is possibly a boost controller, or perhaps some kind of low profile radar detector screen or something cool and not normally seen.
Any idea's, help, hints, winning lottery ticket money, you guys and gals wanna toss at me, I'd appreciate it.
(also, apologies if this is the wrong spot for this thread)

I also remember seeing a boost controller installed there, want to say it was a Greddy Profec-B but not positive.

I made a picture to help illustrate what I mean. I want to do this radio relocation, with the three gauges (now my mystery third gauge might be a wideband, per your suggestion). The middle one won't be a gauge per say, but an anolog clock that fits there. Which leads me to not need the OEM clock anymore, above the hazard light button.
I personally would think it totally cool and low-profile to have a radar detector screen, or possibly something else , tucked in that spot. It's looking like that might be a full on custom job. Just curious if anyone else has had this idea to put something where the oem clock is, and tried anything themselves.
While I like the idea of having something tucked in that spot I think its more work and headaches than its worth. This is merely my opinion so please don't take this as negativity. If you do decide to come up with something I look forward to seeing what you come up with.
I guess it just seems like getting rid of the clock is one thing but to move a clock down to the gauge panel then put a gauge where the clock is seems your just better off leaving the clock as is and putting a gauge in the gauge pod.

I love the look of an anolog clock 52 mm gauge, looks sleek and sexy. Only reason why I'd want that. But to look at it from a different view, most people rock after market radios, which tend to have their own digital clocks. Why have two? (or three in my soon to be case
) But I do see the point you're making with all the flip flopping I'm suggesting So I'll have to come up with something so epicly awesome, everyone will be envious, and I'll have to streamline it so people can do it too. I'll make sure to take pics and do a good write up.

No negativity at all. I was trying to see if anyone beat me to the idea yet.

I'm glad you see where I am coming from. Good luck with everything and I look forward to seeing what you come up with. Whether your putting in a clock boost gauge wideband it makes no difference because custom work is always cool and I love seeing what people come up with.
