Problem installing boost gauge

Hi,
So here is the situation. I had a boost gauge (Prosport Premium 52 boost gauge) on the dash for awhile until i recently moved it to the steering wheel column. When I moved it, it seems to not have enough power going to it and is white and red colored when turning on (compared to the normal white in daytime and red at night). When I turn my headlights on, the dial jumps around and beeps. I checked out the wiring and attempted to rewire it according to a representative from prosport but nothing is working. The rep said to move the orange wire from the clock to the radio red which wouldn't make sense since it has to change colors at night and the radio doesn't since its aftermarket.

The wiring is as follows:

Orange boost wire to green/white wire on clock
White boost wire to blue/yellow on clock
Red boost wire to radio red
Black boost wire to frame

Any suggestions on what I am doing wrong or if the gauge is just dying? Ivey tuning is not to far from me but they quoted me $200 so I am trying it myself.

White is dimmer backlight.
Orange is for backlighting with lights on.

So are in inferring that my wiring is backwards on the orange and white? On the prosport website it says what all the wire colors are for.

when i had my prosport gauges, i had the orange wire going to the little ash tray light, i believe, cant remember if it was the orange or white though, you should try it at that spot, worked great for me.
