Hey, why dont you take ur evo to the local tranny shop? It's rather simple process, but you do need some tools to get the job done correctly or easily. You'll need some kind of pump to pump the fluid into the tranny pan. THere is a thread with step by step instructions on how to do this. It's just like changning out ur oil. If you did that before, then you have a good idea on how to do it. I just take it to one of those local oil express place to get it change out. Cost a little bit, but then you dont have to deal with the mess. Hope this will help. It cost me $29 for the whole process. By the way guys, pennzoil syncromesh works great for me. You guys might want to try it. Peace...

masterevo and evolvedDSM, you guys were very helpful. good write up by the way! now i only have one question left. it looks like the fill holes are on the side of the pan. so my question is, how am i supposed to get the new fluid in that hole? oh, and how much fluid do you think goes in the transmission?

thanks again for all of your help

I use a suction gun to fill mine (they cost less than $10). You can also gravity feed the tranny (via a tube and funnel) if you take out the airbox. The tranny usually takes 3 quarts (sometimes a little less) to fill.
