Is there any way to bypass the handbrake safety check.

I just bought a DVD player and its says that i need to connect it to the handbrake, and only when the handbrake is active i will be able to watch DVDs, my question is, is there a way to bypass that check?

InsidiousEvo is right, however I may suggest wiring a *discreet* switch to toggle between tapping into your e-brake wire and a grounded-to-frame wire. That way should you ever have to prove to certain "authorities" that the DVD won't work when in gear you can simply flip the switch.

Not that I know from experience or anything

you can just ground it with the regular ground for the player and it will work but I would put a switch also. All you need to do is take that wire for the ebrake (probably green if i'm right) and tap a wire into it near the origin (the spot where it comes out of the radio) now you have two wires. the green goes to the parking brake ground and the other goes to one side of a switch. the other side of the switch will go into the regular ground. this way when the switch is closed, you'll get ground no matter what. when you open it, you'll need to pull up the ebrake to give the radio ground. simple.

So the handbrake has to be up to view. Does the car has to be stationary to view?
